The volunteers of IWSF try to reach out to companies and encourage them to embrace gender-neutrality in seafaring. In the three years of our existence, we have seen the 'women seafarer acceptability index' of shipping companies worldwide has improved, although much can still be done. Companies like Scorpio, Disney Cruise, Synergy Maritime and several others have now opened their recruitments for women seafarers.

Not just on-board, we also help ladies in taking on shore opportunities. Our network of volunteers continuously assist each other in improving placement of women seafarers world-wide.
